Climb Every Mountain!


Some Tuesday are great and others are great...Yesterday was one of those great Tuesdays!! The celebrations continue as our clients are entering into "one-derland", reaching their 100 lb. weight loss marks and climbing out of the pit for these glory days! We've got three weeks to go of this Winter Team Challenge and I believe we are going to reach the summit!

A big congratulations to our winning teams for the week. Team'Fireball' took the win with a 2.40% of weight loss at the Noon gathering. Arty and Doug are taking this climb seriously. I heard them both say that they will both hit their 50 pound mark by the time this climb is over! Awesome!!! At Six, team 'Chicks with Kicks' won the weekly prize with a 2.54 % of weight loss! Sara and Gemma were excited when Amy R. donated hair styling for each one of their pretty heads...before and after pictures coming soon! Great week you two!

Some important subjects were covered at The Healthy Weigh Tuesday... Sherpa Mingma shared a huge lesson about shame. Shame is a feeling that comes out of a belief system that says "I can't do this...I'm hopeless." Glenda drove the message home, which is...THAT MESSAGE IS A LIE! Saying "I'm bad" or "I ate bad food" needs to be turned around to saying "I can change" or "I made unhealthy choices." Food is not good or bad...it's just food. When we are feeling shame we need to go back and ask ourselves..."When did I feel shame like this before?" For many, it stems back to our childhood when we were told we were bad...or heard "Shame on you." The Healthy Weigh is a NO SHAME ZONE! Glenda did a great job of making sure we all understood that yesterday...What a Sherpa she is!

I had fun sharing some important concepts that are going to be crucial to all of our clients not only reaching their goal weight but keeping it off for life! The 3 to 1 Rule...The calorie Bank...and The Sometimes Foods!(Are you singing the song right now?) I hope I gave enough visuals and stories to help our clients remember these important lessons for a life time!

My favorite part of Tuesday was joining in with the 6pm group singing a rousing rendition of Climb Every Mountain! After seeing tears at the scale (Congratulations Marna on 100 pounds...Congratulations Amanda and Marianne on entering into one-derland)it seemed fitting that we would sing that great song together!!!

Thanks to the generous contribution from our friend Craig Thompson, General Manager of the Monaco Hotel down Town Portland, we through out a fun contest for the week. EVERY client who loses 2 pounds or more this week will enter into a drawing for an overnight stay at the Monaco! One for our Noon group and another for the 6pm group! We're in the glory days and this is going to make a difference!

We lost 280 pounds this last week...that means we only have 509 pounds to go to break our all time record!!! GLORY!!
