I know it's foreign to some people, that you'd come to a weight loss organization and spend little time talking about the very thing that causes you to gain weight...FOOD. You'd think that every week, we'd spend time discussing nutrition and recipes. You'd think that every week we'd give tips and helps for eating in and eating out. But here's what I've learned in the last 30 years...it's not about the FOOD! Of course, we've got to eat a proper diet of whole fresh foods to lose weight. And of course, we've got to learn to say yes to the right foods and no to the wrong foods. Gaining weight and losing weight is a math problem, and sometimes you've got to do math.
This week at the Team Challenge was ALL about FOOD! We had some fun talking about the miracle foods of this century. We looked at restaurant eating and simplified it... "The food you need is in the kitchen!" And I shared some of my favorite concepts that have helped me keep my weight off for years. Even though I know that there's more to losing weight and keeping it off than FOOD...it was good to spend this Thursday talking about it!
We had a blast this week celebrating TEAMS! Team spirit was evident at The Healthy Weigh! Glenda and I even went all out and performed a little soft shoe routine to "It's beginning to be a habit with me." It was a fun Thursday!!
Our winning Teams for the week were celebrated too! Congratulations for your persistence!
Noon: Team "Choose to Lose" Debbie and Dorie won with a 2.20% of weight loss!
6:00 Team "Foley Loaded" Amy and Kelly won for the second week in a row with a 1.74 % of weight loss!
Good job to all of you...and to all of you who are showing up each week regardless of your weight loss for the week. That's how you change your thinking. You keep on coming!!! Change your thinking, and you will change your life! Small changes over a long period of time...
Your Challenge for the week:

We have three weeks left of this Team Challenge! Three weeks is enough time to do GREAT things! Lose weight, learn more, change your thought life... lots of really GREAT things!
Next week we meet Abe Lincoln! It's going to be a fantastic week!
Always encouraging you,
Letha
