There's Hope for the Holidays

I was tough this week...really tough.  Not because I wanted to be, but because that's what I'm paid to do.  October 8th of this year close to 200 people started a ten week weight loss challenge knowing that the holidays were coming. It was my job this week to inspire them, convince them, and motivate them to come through the holidays healthy, happy and full of hope!

I painted a picture of a typical American holiday with unhealthy habits causing an average weight gain of 12 pounds from Halloween to New Year's.  That's NOT the kind of holiday we're going to have that's for sure! Because we're focusing on habits this fall, I thought we might as well look at holiday habits too! We're going to give up some unhealthy ones and trade them in for healthy habits! We are going to let go of some of the habits that don’t serve us and exchange those for healthy habits and hope!   Hope for the holidays, that’s what I want us all to have…a little hope!

Hope; a feeling that what is wanted, will happen. Exercising, eating healthy, losing weight, giving to others while you’re taking on a new attitude about this holiday season!

To make a shift in your holiday plans…it’s going to take a shift in your holiday thought life!

We’re letting go of some false idea that says that we can’t eat healthy for the next two months! 
We are letting go of the habit that says all healthy choices go out the window during the holidays.

This is what we are going to focus on instead:
  • Losing weight EVERY WEEK
  • Attending THW every week
  • Keeping your food and exercise record and turning it in each week
  • Trying a new/healthy recipe every week
  • Exercising 3 times per week 
Those 5 things each week will get everyone into a drawing where 2 people will win $150 at the Grand Finale.  Also the one person with the greatest % of weight loss from Thursday, November 5th through December 17th will win "Healthy Weigh For Life!"

We celebrated all kinds of winners this week!  We gave away our two Fit Bits to the winners of the #healthyhabits 21 days challenge.  Congratulations to Debbie O. and Becky S.  You two were deserving winners! We also gave out 4 $50 bills to the winners of the 2 pound contest! Congratulations to all our winners!  We had amazing weight loss this week! I can't help but think that we are on our way for a VERY healthy holiday season full of hope!

6 PM: Team "Non Fat Pumpkin Spice Hottay's" Amber and Bri with a 2.79% of weight loss for the week!
