Fanny Packs are Life! :-)


This week as we continue to work to write a better story for our lives I couldn't help but speak about "Back Packs." I learned about "Back Packs" 15 years ago, and it was life changing for me.
Learning to control what you can and let go of things you can't control is not only freeing, it's smart!

At first look, clients wonder what "back packs" have to do with weight loss. It doesn't take long to begin to understand the concept. The more you understand about self-control, personal responsibility and emotional ownership, the easier it is to make choices for yourself regarding your weight loss program and your health.

We spent some time looking at the 12 things that are in our back pack.  The 12 things we are responsible for, should be in control of and need to own.

Personal Responsibility
Those things that each of us are obligated or expected to account for
Self-Control
Having control of one’s own actions ~ showing restraint, self-discipline
Ownership
To possess or have control of, to be a master of

Over the years I've seen clients, friends and family, using all their time, and energy on things out side of their control. Those things appear to get bigger and bigger, because we have no control over them, and we appear to get smaller and smaller. The things that we DO have control of...the 12 things in our back pack are the ONLY things that will help us become the women and men we were intended to be. Strong, healthy and full of love.

I did share some pretty ground breaking information about Back Packs this week.  As I've tried to figure out what makes living in our own back pack so difficult it dawned on me this week, that when that pack is hanging on our backs, we have trouble seeing it! I'm thinking it's time to move those things into a fanny pack and put them right out in front! We had fun talking about this new concept for our back pack lesson! 

Our winning Teams for the week:
Noon: Team "SIS" Sally and Darlene won with a 2.34% of weight loss!
6PM: Team "20/20" John and Carol won with a 3.10 % of weight loss! 

Our water bottle winners of the week were Lauren S. at noon and Robin H. at 6!!

  • Download week # 4 "Coping Skills ~ Feeling Your Way Through Life" and do the homework provided.
  • Lose 2 pounds this week to be entered into a drawing for $50 at each gathering.

Back Packs...Fanny Packs  is a lesson that you will want to share with your children, your spouses and everyone you spend time with. I pray that it will be as life changing for you as it was and still is for me.
