Hoo ah!

Colonel Ken Garrison from the United States Army brought a little "MM' (Military Motivation) to The Team Challenge today. We learned the meaning the "Hoo ah", practiced it, and used it when we had to. We're going to use "Hoo ah" this Team Challenge when one of our participants gains weight. By shouting out "Hoo ah," we'll be saying..."You can do better, We're with you and We expect a loss next week."

We didn't throw around a lot of "Hoo ah" today as our noon group lost 142.1 pounds and our group at Six followed with 270.7 pounds! A lot of celebrating went on at The Healthy Weigh!

With the threat of the pumpkin shortage, I bought out much of the pumpkin in Clark County and used it today to reward our clients. Some of The Healthy Weigh's famous Pumpkin Custard was made in my kitchen Monday night with love to share with the winners of the drawings. We gave out four beautiful baskets with fall colored ramekins, complete with the custard! Congratulations to you winners who completed your weekly challenge and won a prize doing it!

Our New Team Challenge Blazers were given out to the two winning teams today, we gave the teams permission to "decorate" the blazers before turning them back in to the winning teams of next week! This should be fun!

Our Winning Team at Noon was Team CTC, congratulations Scott and Shawn. At Six, Team Ripcord took home the jackets and the can of pumpkin! The over-all winner of this weeks weigh in with a weight loss % of 4.76 was Team CTC! They each received $50.00 courtesy of our Sponsor of the week. Glenda Bigalky, MA.

We had a lot of fun, but talked about some serious things today as well. Getting leverage! Chances are, if you are not experiencing lasting change, it is because you are changing something for the wrong reason or there are not enough compelling reasons for why you should commit to changing in the first place. Now what is great is that there is a tool you can use to help discover your motivation to change. That tool is leverage. A lever is a device that we utilize in order to lift or move a tremendous burden we could not manage on our own. In my experience, 20% of any change is knowing "how to change" but 80% is knowing "why you must." Change requires more than just establishing the knowledge that you should change. It is about knowing at the deepest, most basic emotional level that you must change. If we gather a strong enough set of reasons, we can change in a minute something we’ve failed to change for years. Those reasons—the why—are what provide the leverage. And the greatest leverage you can create for yourself is the pain that comes from inside, not outside. The pain of knowing that you have failed to live up to your own standards for your life. Access enough leverage and there will be nothing you can’t change. So ask yourself this: That thing, whatever it is you’ve been trying to change but haven’t followed through with—what will it ultimately cost you if you don’t change? And what will you ultimately gain if you do? With knowledge of the answers to those questions, you’ll be able to create lasting change in every aspect of your life.

YOUR CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK:
Get leverage...link pain to being over weight . Link pain to eating unhealthy. Link pain to the life you've been living and will continue to live if you don't change.
Bring that work back in on Tuesday and you'll get another chance to win a prize!

We ended on a brighter note...a chance to feel the difference between hope and certainty! I challenged you to go out this week and live like you're certain that you will succeed in these next 9 weeks!

Congratulations to all our winners and to all of you...what a great job you all did this week.
Thank you again to our Sponsor of the week, Glenda Bigalky. Your support means so much. We appreciate you.

With encouragement and pumpkin,

Letha
