Two are Better than One!

Who ever thought losing weight could be so much fun? That's what we had at the Team Challenge this week...fun! Our teams showed up in style Tuesday proving that two are better than one! With costumes, matching shirts, songs and a poem or two, we entered the 4th week of this team Challenge raring to go! Rumor has it, there was a run on "Doing It" shirts at Champs this week! I love it!

Noon time celebrated our winning team for the day. 'Team One-Eighty' took the weekly win with a 2.36% weight loss! Congratulations Barry and Krystal, you two are going to have a great time at your cooking class with Nancy. 50 pounds were lost by our noon group this week. See the words to one of the great songs of the day at the closing of this blog. Thanks to Wendy from team 'Bad Genes~Further Evidence,' we had a little music this week!

Five O'clock knows how to have fun. We laughed and lost another 58 pounds this week! Team 'Kickin it with Kankles' took the win with 2.0% weight loss for the week. Congratulations to Gail and Alyssa...and by the way, loved your shirts!

Our last group of the night showed their personal style as well. We even had a team get inked for the occasion! Team 'Almost there,' loved the tattoos! With a 1.05% of weight loss for the week, team 'In It To Win It' took the win at 6:30. Congratulations to Mitch and Brenda. They persevered this week and it made a difference!

We focused this week on the importance of learning to create urgency about our weight loss and our health. We are people of urgency. We know what's important, but we respond to what is urgent...(like a bowl of Halloween candy in front of us.) As we head in to this difficult time of year for dieters everywhere, we are convinced that this is the BEST time of year to be working together as teams and as a community, to eat healthy and set limits.

YOUR CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK:
Don't eat one piece of Halloween candy...'not one stinkin' piece'!
Create urgency this week about following your nutritional plan! Why is it a MUST?!!

Thank you to our Sponsor for the week, Nancy Higgins. She is a true supporter of The Healthy Weigh and all of you.

Below are the lyrics to the song Wendy wrote and sang at noon. It is to the tune of "I can see clearly now, the rain is gone"..sing along! ( by the way, Wendy should be celebrating her 200 pound weight loss mark with us during this Team Challenge!)

I can see clearly now the haze is gone
All my excuses have flown away
I have decided and that's all there is
It's gonna be a bright, bright, new healthy weigh

Nothing this good can ever come easy
Working each day to make myself strong,
But melting away feels so amazing
I'll measure my food my whole life long

I've burned all my bridges now there's no return
I wont go back to painful yesterdays
This is the future I've been praying for
It's gonna be a bright, bright, new healthy weigh.

Have a great week my friends...don't let up, you're doing it!
Let's see some great posts on this blog, you're encouragement last week was outstanding! Get on face book and become a fan of The Healthy Weigh...I'm posting a photo album of yesterdays event!

Always encouraging you,
Letha

DOING IT!

Week # 3 of the Team Challenge was exciting as our teams dropped another 197 pounds! As we focused on 'DOING IT' rather than the suggestion to 'JUST DO IT', I challenged our teams to be doers this week...regarding the nutritional plan, motivation and team work!

At noon, our winning team 'Forced Family Fun' took the weekly win with a 1.85% of weight loss for the week. Congratulations to Phyllis and Katelyn! You are proving that families can have fun at the Team Challenge! Our noon teams lost a total of 50.9 pounds...coming in third place for the day between our three groups.

Five O'clock turned out to be a winning group all the way around! 'Old Dogs New Tricks' took the win for the day with a 3.18% for the week. Mike and Ralph shared their secret..."they just follow the nutritional plan"! They were the winners of the Rubbermaid 40 piece containers...so helpful to have in your kitchen to continue this life of healthy eating! Our 5:00 group lost a total of 89.9 pounds, leading the way this third week of the Team Challenge!

Our last group of the day hosted the winner of the 2 lb contest! Congratulations to Maureen for winning the beautiful fall basket of goodies! Team 'Cereal Killers' took the win for this group with a 1.96 % of weight loss for the week. Congratulations to Vicki and Becky, the sashes look great on you! 56.1 more pounds were dropped at 6:30...love to see those unwanted pounds left behind!

As we focused on DOING IT, one of our biggest helps in being successful at this Team Challenge, is our partner! I challenged the teams to use each other to be better this week!

YOUR CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK:
1. Do something fun, creative, powerful...for your partner this week! Be a life coach and make a difference for your team mate!
2. Come next week, looking like partners! (I know you love this part)

Thank you to our sponsor for the week, Barry Brandenburg, attorney at law. The support that our friends of The Healthy Weigh show, make this Team Challenge the success that it is!

Be DOERS this week! Don't wait until the conditions are just right. Be in the process of DOING IT and you will see success on the scale next Tuesday!

Post a comment on this blog to receive an extra ticket in the drawing next week!

Always encouraging you.

Restaurant Eating...aint no big thing!

Wow...what a day at The Healthy Weigh! We watched the results of 100 people making healthy choices. 430 pounds were shed as the three Team Challenge groups weighed in!
The first successful week of many, were celebrated by all! As teams showed up to announce the secret code, "I've decided, I'm committed and I will succeed", the mood was set for a fun, educational Tuesday!

At noon we had some close competition! 143.1 pounds were lost with three teams leading the way! The top honors at noon went to team 'Thin City' with a 3.74% of weight loss for the week. Congratulations to Barbara and Leslie, you guys made it happen this week! The immunity idol was presented for this fall Team Challenge at noon. A bright orange banner with DECIDE COMMIT SUCCEED flashed across it, will be worn and coveted by all teams for this Team Challenge!

The 5 PM teams took the 'win' for the group with the most pounds lost this week! 168.6! I'm telling you...there's something special about this group! Team 'Kickin' It With Kankles' took the banners and the win with a weight loss % of 4.39 for the week! Gail and Alyssa are excited to wear their banners at work and school all week! I plan on dropping by Prairie High School to see Alyssa and take a photo of her in class with her banner on! I'll be sure to post the photo immediately! :-)

Our Teams at 6:30 couldn't be out done, with a weight loss of 116.9, they still hosted the wining team for the week! Team 'Because I said so' took the win and the $100 prize this week with a weight loss % of 5.72!!! Congratulations to Tammy and her son C.J.. I think C.J. was pretty excited when I handed him a $50 bill for his efforts this week!I know his banner will be worn with pride at La Center High School this week! I guess we have a little friendly high school competition going on as well!

We focused this week on restaurant eating. Being on The Healthy Weigh weight loss program does not mean that you can't go out to eat...in fact, you can stay 100% on program in most restaurants in the area! The mantra we repeated was..."The Food you need is in the kitchen." You probably won't find it on the menu...but you can, with confidence, order what you need and you'll find, that you'll be served with love!

YOUR CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK: To go out and eat! Order with confidence, stay 100% on your program and bring your receipt in next Tuesday for a ticket in the drawing!

As you begin another week of stringing great weeks together, remember that each one of you will be the WINNER of this Team Challenge when you stand on the scale December 7th with a fantastic weight loss! Encourage your partner this week, enjoy the benefits of healthy eating and look forward to your weigh in on Tuesday! Remember, 2 pounds will get you in the drawing for our wonderful fall basket...I'd love to see EVERYONE in that drawing!

A special Thank You to our sponsor for the week, Glenda Bigalky! She donated $100 for the team prize this week to let you know that she supports you and is willing to invest in you.

Hope to see many of you on Thursday at noon or 6...and again Saturday 9 AM to noon for our extrovert/introvert class! Glenda and I have had fun working on this class. We'd love to share our Saturday morning with you.

Have a terrific week. Until next time.
Always encouraging you,
Letha

DECIDE COMMIT SUCCEED!

Let the fun begin! The Fall Team Challenge is officially under way! We weighed in 50 teams Tuesday to begin an exciting, challenging 10 weeks. With before pictures being taken and partnership agreements being signed, we are well on our way to the greatest Team Challenge yet! Tuesday marked the opening of our 6th season. I'm already convinced, it will be our best!

At noon, 5 and 6:30 we heard some more creative team names as we weighed our challengers in for the very first time. Matching tee shirts, hats and a couple pair of shades showed the team spirit in the room already. I love it!

As much fun as we had meeting the teams, the seriousness of what we're really here to do was focused on as well. I set a challenge before this group that I've never done before...to stay 100% on the program for the entire 10 weeks! To cut off any other possibility...to decide, commit and succeed at this Team Challenge in ways they've never done before!

Our focus for the week as we are just getting started was to take that very important first step...the first step to any change is to decide what you want. We often know what we don't want, but rarely take the time to really look at what we do want.

YOUR CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK
: Decide what you really want. Make a list of what you want in regards to your weight and your health. Bring that list back into the clinic next week for a ticket in the drawing!

For an extra ticket in the drawing... come in and say "I've decided, I'm committed and I am going to succeed."

Every participant received a copy of the CD series yesterday. I'm excited to see some or all of you each Thursday for the next 6 weeks to review and process each week of our personal control guides. Glenda and I will present a 30 minute class Thursdays at noon and 6. I hope to see you there.

It's going to be a great 10 weeks. I can already feel it! Get with your partners this week, make a plan for greatness, cut off any other possibility and we'll see you soon.

Always encouraging you.
Letha
