Oh Be Careful Little Minds What You Think!

I was ALL fired up this week as I shared the importance of our thought life and the words we choose to say to others and ourselves. When it comes to creating certainty about our weight loss progress we MUST take great care in choosing our thoughts and understanding the power of our words.

Be careful of your thoughts, they become words.
Be careful of your words, they be come actions.
Be careful of your actions, they become habits.
Be careful of your habits, they become character.
Be careful of your character, it becomes your destiny.

We not only focused on creating certainty with our thoughts and words, but we did it with our physical bodies as well. I hope you'll remember that you have control over all those things this week!

At noon we had great weight loss! 134.2 pounds were lost and rewards were giving out for last weeks challenge, linking pain to destructive behavior. Thanks to Nancy H. from team 'Skinnie Minnies', we received four $25 gift certificates from Party City to give away Tuesday!

Team 'Flab 2 Fab' won at Noon with a weight loss % of 2.0. Marilyn and Holly not only got to take the gorgeous jackets with them for the week, but won the great prize of a cooking class with our own Nancy Higgins. The two teams will enjoy a cooking class in Nancy's kitchen and take home the food they prepare! What fun!

At six, team 'Pound Puppies' took the win for the day with a weight loss % of 2.16 for the week! Congratulations to Lydia and Dalya! You are going to be stars at Pleasant Valley School this week in those jackets! Glenda and I are going to join you four at Nancy's cooking class. We are looking forward to the fun and hoping to learn a thing or two about cooking as well!
Your fellow 6 PM team mates lost a total of 98 pounds this week for a grand total of 232 pounds for the day!

Chow Time was fun as we added yet another wonderful, easy dish to our recipe file! Pureed cauliflower will be the new mash potatoes...I just know it! Congrats to the winners of those ingredients...I hope you're making that new recipe tonight!

YOUR CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK:
Write out 3 positive statements with words that will change your mind! Bring them in to the clinic next Tuesday for another opportunity to win great prizes!

Remember, my friends, You have complete control over you thought life...and your thought life will determine your actions this week!

Have a great week.

614 Pounds Lost This Week...Not a Bad Start!

Oh how I love Tuesdays! I love the excitement, the celebration, and sharing your successes! This week had extra helpings of all three!

We introduced our noise maker for any weight gain this Team Challenge. We only heard that little horn blow one time with 106 people weighing in! Thanks Jerry for taking it for the team! I'm hoping the sound of that little horn is on your list this week as you link pain to overeating and being over weight!

Noon was fun as 21 teams weighed in for a total of 243.1 pounds lost! The Potluck Pastors...The Final Chapter, took the win for the day with a weight loss % of 5.31 for the week! I guess Bruce and Barry DECIDED! Congratulations to you both...winners of $100 and the recipients of the beautiful melon colored shirts for this spring team challenge! Can't wait to see the art work next week and hoping we get to celebrate Bruce's 100 pound mark!

Six PM was heated up as 32 teams weigh in! 371.4 pounds were lost by this on fire group! We congratulated Chris from team 'Best in Chow' for being the winner of the recruiting contest. Scott Higgins from our winter Team Challenge donated back his $200 to use as an incentive to motivate clients to recruit new members to the Team Challenge. Thanks Chris, for bringing your friends to our life changing program...they are already turning out to be some wild pound puppies!
Team 'Big Hinnes' took the evening win with a weight loss % of 4.83 for the week! The melon colored shirts look terrific on Ron and Tammy. Ron's going to look great at Albertsons this week wearing his new shirt!

We introduced a new segment to the Spring Team Challenge..."Chow Time" with a ring of the dinner bell the chant was shouted out..."It's Chow Time" Each week I will present a quick recipe idea and give away a sample! This week two of our clients took home Lemon and Blueberry Chicken in lettuce wraps! Chow Time is going to be fun!

Gena from Kaiser Permanente donated 4 great insulated lunch bags complete with plastic wear and an ice block! Thanks to Gena and congratulations to our 4 winners! It pays to follow through with your weekly challenge!

THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSOR OF THE WEEK:
Glenda Biglaky, MA

YOUR CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK:
Link pain to over eating, being over weight, and /or not making permanent changes with your eating.

The ultimate leverage in human beings to create change always comes down to our ability to change what we link pain to, and what we link pleasure to.

Bring that list in next week for a ticket in the drawing...you know now, you won't want to miss out!

I'm Expecting great things from you this week. Looking forward to seeing you next Tuesday. Remember 20 % of change is knowing "how to change", but 80% is knowing "why you must"!

Always Encouraging You.

Season Four Begins!

I'm thrilled to sit and write about the opener of season four of The Healthy Weigh Team Challenge! Fifty three teams weighed in yesterday to begin a 10 week journey of fun and change! I knew things were going to be explosive when I had to pop over to Costco yesterday and buy some more chairs! The word is getting out about the success of the Team Challenge.

We met some new friends and weighed in some long time friends as well, at our noon time meeting! Before pictures were taken and team names were announced to start out this 10 week challenge. I'm already feeling the connections that our noon group will have with each other. The support and encouragement between the teams really comes out strong at noon!

At 6, we did the same with even more teams! We saw pom poms, matching shirts, heard a song or two...even some puppies barking! The doors were open...the air conditioning was blaring...and we still heated up the place! What fun we're going to be having at 6:00 on Tuesdays!

We did throw a little money around last night! Tammy H. from team 'Pound Puppies' went home with $100, for losing weight between the last Team Challenge and this one! She was in a drawing with other team participants that did a great job losing weight the last few weeks as well!...Tammy's SCREAM when she won, was worth the money! :-)

As much fun as we had, we also had a time of looking at the first step to making any change!!! Knowing What You Want! So often we know what we DON'T want...but that doesn't take us where we want to go. This week I challenged the Spring Challenge participants to decide what they really want so that they have something to move towards!

YOUR CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK:
Make a list of what you really want. When you've reached your goal and you've kept it off...what will your life look like? That is what you really want.
Write that down this week and bring it back in to the clinic for a ticket in a drawing!(you won't want to miss this)

Have a great week...Make every day count...no regrets!
