And the Winner is...

It's Official, Team CTC (Cut the Check) Scott and Shawn, are the official winners of our fall Team Challenge! They were awarded $1000.00 at the Grand Finale on Tuesday night! They won this challenge with a weight loss % of 18.24. Congratulations!

We had a close second with team Potluck Pastors coming in with a 17.93%! Congratulations to Bruce of Potluck Pastors having the most weight loss for the 10 week challenge... 57 pounds! His Team mate Barry won the greatest % of weight loss. It was a close race and a fun one at that. Team CTC didn't know they had won until the names were announced!

Our Teams lost a total of 1374 pounds for this Challenge! Lots of great effort and lots of great fun!

Our last week had noon time and 6 pm winners as well. Two teams went home with the jackets for the last time. At Noon Potluck Pastors took home the jackets for the second time with a weight loss % of 2.51 for the week! At 6 PM team Adipositives had a weight loss% of 1.46 to give them the title for the last week!

As we come to a close of another successful Team Challenge I'm thrilled for the winners as well as all the others who participated! It was a great 10 weeks!

Interrupt Those Patterns!

We celebrated tonight as the final total of weight loss for the day was 104.1 pounds! To beat the last Team Challenge, this group needs to lose 97.6 pounds per week for the next three weeks. One down...two to go!

Our noon group awarded the jackets to a team for the third time! Congratulations to team "Barely Breathing" with a weight loss % of 1.53 for the week. Our thanks go out to Debbie T. of team "Raising the Bar" for the beautiful jewelry she donated for our drawing this week. Four of our team mates at noon and at six were gifted with these beautiful bracelets!

Our big winners for the day were in the building at our 6PM weigh-in. Team "Lighten the Load" took the team prize with a weight loss % of 1.71 for the week! Congratulations to Gena and Cheryl! It's been fun to watch you peel off those cubes of Challenge butter! A duffel bag full of good gifts, were presented to the team tonight!

Our Focus today was the concept of interrupting patterns. The habits and patterns that have caused weight gain...and the habits and patterns that cause people to put weight back on.
Interrupting patterns is a BIG and important tool to change permanently. Pattern interrupts need to be outrageous and fun. Interrupting a pattern, an old habit is like taking a CD of music and scratching the surface...back and forth, back and forth. Try putting that CD back into the disc player...that music is lost forever. The same thing happens with us, we must find a way to interrupt, scratch the old patterns and never experience them again.

YOUR CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK:
Practice an outrageous pattern interrupt! Write the patten interrupt on your program journal and bring it in to the Team Challenge next week. The most outrageous one at noon and six, wins a prize!

Two weeks to go teams...make them count!

Always encouraging you,
Letha

Rally Caps!

I love baseball! Today's Team Challenge was all about baseball! The complete game, the quality start, and the rally caps to shift the momentum for a strong finish! The seventh inning stretch gave us an opportunity to stretch a bit and sing with Jimmy Buffet, Take me out to the ballgame! 119.7 pounds were lost today at the Team Challenge!

The noon time group continues to impress me with their outstanding effort and results! They lost 60 pounds and had one little "Hoo Ah!" Team 'Pot Luck Pastors' not only won the prize for the noon group with a weight loss % of 2.69...but they won the top spot for the day! Congratulations to Barry and Bruce, I'm so proud of the two of you!

The coveted jackets were passed on to yet another deserving team tonight at six. Team 'Champions: Team Challenge' won with a weight loss % of 2.6 for the week! Both teams were awarded with "Healthy Weigh for Life." These four contestants were elated and we celebrate with them!

As we are approaching the last innings of this game, the focus today was about having a strong finish! sometimes it takes a rally cap to shift the momentum.

How many times have you started the game…you’ve started to lose weight, felt a lot better, started to fit into clothes you haven’t been able to wear in years, people telling you how good you look…but never finished the game!? Had a quality start, but had a weak finish?

Question for you…how much thought have you given to your weight loss program after the team challenge? Will you have a complete game? Did you come in to this game to play a few innings and stop short…or do you want a quality start and a strong finish?

Do you know how many games are won and lost in the last 3 innings? How you perform from here on out will determine the finish you have.

Your first 7 innings have been awesome. You’ve put forth great effort…about now is when the team that really wants the win, steps up and puts on their rally caps!!! It’s time to put on the rally caps.

This is when you step up and say…this is my win. No one can take this from me. I am the only one that can win my game and the winning starts now. Right here with me and my rally cap!

Don’t let this quality start end without a win. EVERYONE of you have the opportunity to win…not the $1000…but something more important than that. The big win, going for the home run( the tater), being at goal weight, and learning to experience the rest of your life on maintenance!

YOUR CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK:
Come in next week with your goal date written down on a piece of paper.

Rally Caps people…this is when the real fun begins!

See you next week!

Spring's a Comin'

The Daffodil Principle was our inspiration today at the Team Challenge. We were surrounded by daffodils, got a few to plant this week and listened to a great story about one woman, who year after year planted daffodil bulbs one at a time to create a magnificent display of beauty.

Our noon group provided our winner for the week. Team "Porkelsons No More" won the jackets with a weight loss % of 2.17 for the week. We awarded the winning team with Sea Hawk tickets, two stadium blankets, 12th man flags and even some football playing cards to use at their tailgate party! Congratulations to Dave and Jennifer...you guys did it! Sponsors of this great gift were The Parkin-Rego family and The Healthy Weigh.

Team "Ripcord" won the jackets for the second time tonight with a weight loss % of 1.74 for the week! I overheard them, on their way out scheming about the addition to the jackets for next week. Their consistency paid off tonight. Good job!

We had more sponsors to thank this week as we gave out gifts from Gena Bailey with Kaiser Permanente and Debbie Gardner with State Farm Insurance. We so appreciate your support of our life changing program.

YOUR CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK:
Plant your daffodil bulbs!

Today's challenge was all about doing the work today...and seeing the results later! You will plant those bulbs this week and not see the results until Spring. and just think of how you'll look by spring!

Here's what the daffodil principle taught us ...

learn to move toward our goals and desires one step at a time,(often just one baby-step at a time)
learn to love the doing,
learn to use the accumulation of time

When we multiply tiny pieces of time with small increments of daily effort, we too will find we can accomplish magnificent things. We can change the world.

Have a great week...really looking forward to next Tuesday!
See you then.

The Buck Stops Here!

Our teams out did themselves today showing up looking like teams! Not only did they dress the part today, but I heard stories of how they acted the part this week by offering their team mates great encouragement! We saw props, heard cheers and even a couple of poems to prove that WE IS GREATER THAN I.

Our noon challenge awarded the jackets to a team for the second week in a row! Congratulations to team "Barely Breathing" with a weight loss % of 1.9 for the week! I guess it's good think there's room on the jacket for another date...they'll need it!

I'm still smiling thinking about the costumes that showed up at Six. I'll be posting some pictures so we can all reminisce! Team "BG Belly Dumpers" took the win for the entire day with a weight loss % of 2.94 for the week! Congratulations Tony and Jessica...you are spending a luxury night at the Monaco Hotel down town Portland Courtesy of Craig Thompson, General Manager and one of our very own, from team "Thompthins" Thanks Craig!

With 5 weeks left in the challenge we focused on a life principle that is life changing...The Buck Stops Here!

YOUR CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK:
Read this life principle every day of this week. Out loud if possible...here it is below.

From this moment forward, I will accept responsibility for my past. I understand that the beginning of wisdom is to accept the responsibility for my own problems and that by accepting responsibility for my past, I free my self to move into a bigger, brighter future of my own choosing.

Never again will I blame my parents, my spouse, my boss, or other employees for my present situation. Neither my education or lack of one, my genetics, or the circumstances of every day life will affect my future in a negative way. If I allow myself to blame these uncontrollable forces for my lack of success, I will be forever caught in a web of the past. I will look forward. I will not let my history control my destiny.
The buck stops here. I accept responsibility for my past. I am responsible for my success. I am where I am today, mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally, and financially because of the decisions I have made. My decisions have always been governed by my thinking, therefore I am where I am today mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally and financially, because of how I think. Today I will begin the process of changing where I am mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally and financially, by changing the way I think. My thoughts will be constructive never destructive. My mind will live in the solution of the future. It will not dwell in the problems of the past. I will seek the association of those who are working and striving to bring about positive changes in the world. I will never seek comfort by associating with those who have decided to be comfortable.
When faced with the opportunity to make a decision, I will make one. The rise a fall of my emotional tide will not deter me from my course. When I make a decision, I will stand behind it. My energy will go into, making the decisions. I will waste none on second thoughts. My life will not be an apology, It will be a statement. The buck stops here. I control my thoughts. I control my emotions. In the future when I am tempted to ask the question, “Why me?” I will immediately counter with the question “Why not me?” Challenges are gifts, opportunities to learn. Problems are the common thread running through great men and women. In times of adversity, I will not have a problem to deal with; I will have a choice to make. My thoughts will be clear. I will make the right choice. Adversity is preparation for greatness. I will accept this preparation. Why me? Why not me? I will be prepared for something great.
I accept responsibility for my past. I control my thoughts. I control my emotions. I am responsible for my success.
The buck stops here.

It's going to be an amazing week when you take control of the buck knife. Looking forward to seeing you next week with some great results!
I hope you'll join me Thursday at noon or six for my 30 refresh class..."Happy New Year"

Always encouraging you.

Fit or Fat?

...that's the question you had to ask yourself today at the Team Challenge weigh-in when you saw the 20 pounds of fat displayed on a platter in front of the room. It was a great visual as we celebrated the fact that every participant had the ability to lose that and more during the 10 week challenge!

The noon group never ceases to amaze me! They performed a first today, having EVERY one of them showing a loss for the week! No "Hoo ah's" at noon today! Congratulations to a group of dogs with a lot of fight! They also hosted our winning team for the day...team "Barely Breathing" won the jackets today with a 1.77% of weight loss for the week. Congratulations to Donetta and Tanya!
83.3 pounds were dropped at noon today! What fun!

Six PM proved to be a lively group with 86.7 pounds lost for the week! The jackets were looking colorful as they were passed on to our winners of the evening team "2 Booties-full" with a weight loss% of 1.55 for the week. The 2 Linda's were excited to be sporting the jackets this week!

Our Sponsors of the week, Jerin Boyer, with Starbucks and John Jackson, with State Farm Insurance gifted us with great prizes to keep the winners happy. Thank you to you both for supporting our clients in their efforts to lose weight and keep it off for life!

We focused on Words today...the power that they have to change our outcome. If you want to be winning at losing weight, learn to harness your word power to work for, not against you; select words that create a visual of the desired outcome; and choose each word as if it mattered. You might be surprised how much it does. Want better results this week? Check your words...which lead us right in to or challenge for the week!

YOUR CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK
Has two parts...first, your assignment is to show up to the Team Challenge next week with a visible sign that you are a team. You might want to have a team cheer, or a team song ready...who knows what might happen!
Secondly...encourage your team mate. We were impressed with the poem from the Double D's that was both encouraging and rewarding. Make a difference with your words and deeds this week to encourage your team mate!

You are doing amazing things and losing lots of weight Teams! Congratulations to all of you for your success so far! Keep up the great work and you'll be looking back on this 10 weeks with pride!

Until next time,

Letha

Merry Christmas!

Our teams received a great gift today, a gift just like Scrooge in A Christmas Carol! They took a journey to the past, present and future. And just like with Scrooge, the journey was hard and painful. As painful as the night was...joy came in the morning! Joy came because Scrooge had a choice about how he was going to live out the rest of his life and he choose a new life!

This was an important exercise for our teams to experience today. Creating urgency to lose weight and keep it off will bring leverage...it will be a tool that makes losing weight and keeping it off easier!

Besides the great weight loss at Noon 111.4 lbs, and 85.6 lbs at Six, we celebrated one of our clients reaching her 100 lb mark today! Congratulations to Courtney of Team Ripcord! You've worked hard and we celebrate with you today!

Noon proved to be a on fire group today! Team Re-deucers took home the jackets and the Christmas prizes, donated by Barry Brandenburg, Attorney at Law, with a weight loss % of 4.07. Congratulations to Mike and Brooke. Can't wait to see what you do with the jackets...I feel some pink coming on!

Our winners at Six looked pretty good in those blue blazers! Team Caution:Dangerous Curves Ahead pulled out a win with 1.94% of weight loss.

John Jackson with State Farm Insurance supported the Team Challenge today with pedometers for our challenge winners. Our participants will be keeping track of their miles thanks to State Farm!

We have a client in the Team challenge with a great little weight loss blog...thought you'd like to check it out.http://weightogoal.blogspot.com/

YOUR CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK:
Keep track of all the food you are eating on your food journal and bring in back to the Challenge next week.

Choose Christmas every day this week my friends...You didn't miss it! You have the opportunity to move in to your futures in control and healthy! I believe in you!

Hoo ah!

Colonel Ken Garrison from the United States Army brought a little "MM' (Military Motivation) to The Team Challenge today. We learned the meaning the "Hoo ah", practiced it, and used it when we had to. We're going to use "Hoo ah" this Team Challenge when one of our participants gains weight. By shouting out "Hoo ah," we'll be saying..."You can do better, We're with you and We expect a loss next week."

We didn't throw around a lot of "Hoo ah" today as our noon group lost 142.1 pounds and our group at Six followed with 270.7 pounds! A lot of celebrating went on at The Healthy Weigh!

With the threat of the pumpkin shortage, I bought out much of the pumpkin in Clark County and used it today to reward our clients. Some of The Healthy Weigh's famous Pumpkin Custard was made in my kitchen Monday night with love to share with the winners of the drawings. We gave out four beautiful baskets with fall colored ramekins, complete with the custard! Congratulations to you winners who completed your weekly challenge and won a prize doing it!

Our New Team Challenge Blazers were given out to the two winning teams today, we gave the teams permission to "decorate" the blazers before turning them back in to the winning teams of next week! This should be fun!

Our Winning Team at Noon was Team CTC, congratulations Scott and Shawn. At Six, Team Ripcord took home the jackets and the can of pumpkin! The over-all winner of this weeks weigh in with a weight loss % of 4.76 was Team CTC! They each received $50.00 courtesy of our Sponsor of the week. Glenda Bigalky, MA.

We had a lot of fun, but talked about some serious things today as well. Getting leverage! Chances are, if you are not experiencing lasting change, it is because you are changing something for the wrong reason or there are not enough compelling reasons for why you should commit to changing in the first place. Now what is great is that there is a tool you can use to help discover your motivation to change. That tool is leverage. A lever is a device that we utilize in order to lift or move a tremendous burden we could not manage on our own. In my experience, 20% of any change is knowing "how to change" but 80% is knowing "why you must." Change requires more than just establishing the knowledge that you should change. It is about knowing at the deepest, most basic emotional level that you must change. If we gather a strong enough set of reasons, we can change in a minute something we’ve failed to change for years. Those reasons—the why—are what provide the leverage. And the greatest leverage you can create for yourself is the pain that comes from inside, not outside. The pain of knowing that you have failed to live up to your own standards for your life. Access enough leverage and there will be nothing you can’t change. So ask yourself this: That thing, whatever it is you’ve been trying to change but haven’t followed through with—what will it ultimately cost you if you don’t change? And what will you ultimately gain if you do? With knowledge of the answers to those questions, you’ll be able to create lasting change in every aspect of your life.

YOUR CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK:
Get leverage...link pain to being over weight . Link pain to eating unhealthy. Link pain to the life you've been living and will continue to live if you don't change.
Bring that work back in on Tuesday and you'll get another chance to win a prize!

We ended on a brighter note...a chance to feel the difference between hope and certainty! I challenged you to go out this week and live like you're certain that you will succeed in these next 9 weeks!

Congratulations to all our winners and to all of you...what a great job you all did this week.
Thank you again to our Sponsor of the week, Glenda Bigalky. Your support means so much. We appreciate you.

With encouragement and pumpkin,

Letha

Game On!

Let the Team Challenge Begin!

42 teams made a decision today to commit to each other and to the Team Challenge! We took team photos and laughed our way through the introduction of all of our uniquely named teams. You could already feel the camaraderie in the room as each person weighed in and faced the scale for the first time!

As we prepared to start this great challenge, I shared three steps to lasting change.
1.You've got to raise your standards. It's about taking losing weight from want to a MUST.
2. You've got to change your limiting beliefs. Interrupting old beliefs and old patterns is a must.
3. You've got to change your strategy. We're prepared to help you do this in the next 10 weeks!

YOUR CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK:
Your first challenge is to write down what you really want, why losing this weight is a MUST in your life! If you were at goal weight right now and we guaranteed that you would stay there for for life...what would your life look like?
The first step to any change is deciding what you want. This is the perfect way to start our Team Challenge. Bring in your writing next week for a ticket in a drawing for a fun prize!

Have a great week thinking about what you want and eating The Healthy Weigh! You will LOVE the results next week.
Hope to see you all Thursday at our refresh class..."Vision Quest."

Always encouraging you.

We've got Ourselves Some Winners!

Our Spring Team Challenge officially came to an end this week with the extended contest coming to a close! Twelve weeks ago, I challenged our Team Challenge participants to go the distance! The official Team Challenge was coming to a close, but there was still opportunity to be a winner! The clients who continued on the program and lost the greatest % of weight over the summer months would be rewarded!

We've got ourselves some winners...

Coming in first, receiving a $400.00 prize was Ginny M. (team Once and for All) wth a 11.71% loss. She is really showing us that this weight loss will be once and for all! Congratulations Ginny.

Following close behind and the winner of $225.00 was Nicole M. (team Legal Losers) with a 10.76 % loss. She proved to be a real "loser"! Nicole, you rock!

We had some amazing weight loss success this summer at The Healthy Weigh and these two dynamic women lead the way!

As we come to the close of our very first Team Challenge, we are equally excited about the next challenge coming up in a couple of weeks! We have 25 teams signed up and are shooting for 39. We have a weight loss goal to beat in our 10 week challenge, and we'll need 39 teams to do it!

Stay posted to this blog as I will continue to give you the latest updates.

It's been a fabulous ride...I'm so proud of all of you!

Always looking ahead....always encouraging you.

The Grand Finale was GRAND!

We had much to celebrate tonight as we had our final weigh-in for the Team Challenge! Our Teams lost a total of 1173 pounds in 9 weeks! It was bitter sweet as we congratulated our teams and individuals for the amazing work they've done in the last 9 weeks!

We presented the scissors one more time at noon and six! Team 'Not Yet Ready For Prime Time' were our winners at noon with a % of weight loss of 1.0 for the week! Myna and Dan, you rock! At six, team 'Smallest Winners' won the win for the week with a weight loss % of 2.3. Heather and Vicki, outstanding! Heather celebrated her 100 pound mark tonight as well...we just partied!

The party didn't stop there... Awards were given out for all kinds of important accomplishments. Ron Bigler was our male with the most weight loss for the challenge and Jeanne Lincoln was our female! Team 'Cupp Cupp and a Weigh' won a very special award... Most Inspirational!

Then the moment we've work for...the announcement of the winning Team. The winners of $1000.00 with the greatest % of weight loss..team 'Big Hinnes!' Ron and Tammy, we are so proud of you and so happy for you! You lost 77 pounds in the last 10 weeks...You truly are the Team that deserved the win!

As I looked out on the room tonight, I saw a room full of winners. Awesome people who lost 15, 20 30 40 pounds in the last 9 weeks! People who accomplished more than they thought they would and had fun doing it!

The last challenge of this first ever Team Challenge was to go home tonight and have a talk with yourself. I'm writing this late, because I went for a walk and did just that! As we close one door, it's crucial to walk right in to another one. Right thinking is a must in these next days and weeks.

It's been a thrilling 10 weeks for me. I pray that all you learned and all you lost will go with you in to a bright, healthy and happy future. You hold a dear place in my heart. I believe in you!

Love, Letha

Sensational Summer is on it's way!

The Teams continued to have fun and lose weight as we celebrated the 9th week of the Team Challenge today! 1100 total lbs. have been lost as the teams shed 60 more lbs. this week! We had fun looking back and reviewing some of the great losses in the last 9 weeks..and, looking ahead to summer and comitting to go the distance!

At Noon, we were excited to announce our scissor award winners, team "Flab-u-less", with a % of weight loss for the week of 1.5! It seemed fitting that they would hold the scissors for real this week!

At Six, team "Big Hinnes" took the win again with a 2.6% weight loss for the week! Congratulations Ron and Tammie, we're all proud of you.

Our teams have done GREAT things in the last 9 weeks. Two of our clients have hit their 100 pound mark during the challenge...congratulations Wendy and Brian. We're glad you got to share that milestone with all of us!

Our final challenge is to write a "blurb" about what the Team Challenge has meant to you. This will be an important exercise for all of our teams members to process the last 10 weeks!

A special thank you to Kym Calder with Avon and Margie Dow with Jewelry by George...the support you showed to our teams today made a difference!

As we prepare to have our grand finale next week...we will be looking at all the great success of our teams. It has been a thrilling 9 weeks for me. I celebrate you and your sucess more than you can imagine!

Congratulations to you all...one more week to earn the scissors! Work hard this week...give it all you've got!

We Make Beautiful Music Together!

"Are we in Heaven?"...that's what I heard at The Healthy Weigh today as Marni from team" Too Many M&M's" played a beautiful gold harp at the Team Challenge! From football stadium music to heavenly harp music, we know how to enjoy ourselves and be inspired by music at the Team Challenge!

We missed Glenda today as our numbers gal! We thanked and appreciated our substitute..Lynn! She did a great job keeping track of the numbers today! We had a little glitch at the noon weigh-in and the wrong team left with the scissors! As I write this blog tonight, team "Just Do It" doesn't know that they were the winners of the scissors at noon with a 1.2 % of weight loss for the week! What a story we'll have for Glenda!

At six, team "Mini Reps" won the scissor award as well as our top team for the week with a 2.3% weight loss ! Jan and Patty will be enjoying the prize for the week when they book Marni and her beautiful harp to play at an event of their choice! Thank you to Marni from Classic Harps Northwest for this great donation and for the beautiful music today.

Our challenge winners of the week were gifted with scrap books and the paper to go with them, courtesy of LeAnn from team "Weigh Major Losers", Linda Aarhus, also gifted two winners with beautiful kits to start Stampin' up! Congratulations to our winners that used imagery this week to motivate them to great success!

We focused on coping skills today. I explained the "life cup" and the importance of processing pain, stress and disappointments to keep from imploding. Processing or coping with your feelings is the key to eliminating emotional eating.

The Challenge for the week is to make a list of hobbies, activities, things you do for fun...and then make a list of your coping skills. Coping; wrestling or grappling with difficulties and acting to overcome them.

Our great Nutritional Plan is the reason our teams are losing so much weight, the weekly challenges and changes are teams are making...are the reasons they will keep their weight off for life.

Two weeks to go teams...live it out big time! Have a great week coping!

I'm so proud of you!

19 Years and Time to Celebrate!

We celebrated The Healthy Weigh's 19th Birthday today at the Team challenge! The teams came through with 115 pounds of weight loss for the week bringing their total up to 899 pounds! What a way to celebrate!

Our Scissor Award winners were excited this week when they each won a special Birthday present courtesy of The Healthy Weigh..."Healthy Weigh for Life." Team 'Dynamic Duo' with a 1.9 % of weight loss for the week and Team 'Big Hinnes' with a 2.3% each took home the scissors for the second time since the Team Challenge started! Congratulations to you all!

Gena Bailey, with Kaiser Permanente gifted us with great cooler lunch bags full of items everyone wanted...including me! Our teams were in the drawing this week for being active three times this week.

This week our focus was visualization!
A fascinating fact about your non-conscious mind is that it’s completely deductive in nature. In other words, it is fully capable of working backwards from the end to the means. You do not need to have the means or the “know how” to achieve a goal at the time you first set the goal, because if you “program” only the outcome (the goal) successfully into your “mental computer,” then your subconscious will take over and help you find the information and means and carry out the actions necessary to reach your desired end.

The Challenge for the week is to visualize each day this week. Practice visualizing the "perfect day" on program. Champions visualize...be a champion this week and come back next week with great success!

Happy Birthday Healthy Weigh...be a part of the celebration this month. Live your best life, take great care of your self and have a wonderful week!

Performing in the RED ZONE!

"Go for The Goal" was the theme as we had a tail gate party at the Team Challenge today! Football was our focus as we learned about the Red Zone, the 20 yards on the field before the end zone! "How a team performs in the Red Zone determines the outcome of the game! "

The Scissor awards were presented to two excited Teams today. The 'E.P.D. Sisters' worked hard this week and earned the scissors at noon with a 1.38% of weight loss for the week. 'Sibling Rivalry' beat them out with the closest race yet...at 1.4%! Our grand prize for the week will be enjoyed by Sibling Rivalry...4 tickets to a Seahawk game! Congratulations to both teams!!!

John Jackson from State Farm Insurance helped with our prizes today as 4 of our participants won pedometers for working on their pain and pleasure lists!

I encouraged all the teams to begin to look at their plans after the Team Challenge! How are you going to keep the momentum going? How are you guaranteed to WIN! "How many times have you gotten his far and not crossed into the end zone?" NOT THIS TIME!

This time...everyone has the opportunity to win...to reach goal and spend the rest of your life on maintenance!

Our challenge this week is an easy one as we look at the beautiful weather we're having. You are challenged to be active 3 times this week and record it on your program journal!

Go for the goal teams...don't let up in the 3rd quarter...this is when the tough get going. This is when teams come from behind and win it all!!!

Perform with strength in the red zone this week!

Team Spirit Abounds!

I don't know if I've experienced anything like our Team Challenge weigh in today! I was impressed and overwhelmed with the participation of our fabulous teams. You exceeded my expectations! The challenge to look like your partner was carried out with talent, creativity and flare! I WILL be posting some pictures of this fun day, watch for them!

As our teams weighed in today with a total of 127 pounds...it brought the grand total up to 784 pounds in 4 weeks!!! You're impressive! You'll see that we are going to post the accumulative % of weight loss each week on the web site...you can see who you need to beat!

I was excited to present the Scissor Award to Team 'Not Yet Ready For Prime Time' at noon with a total of 1.8% of weight loss for the week. At Six, Team 'Smallest Winners' celebrated with 3.0% of weight loss for the week, taking home the Scissor Award and the grand prize for the week...Romance Packages from the Hotel Monaco! Congratulations Heather and Vicki.

General Manager of the Hotel, Craig Thompson, one of our challenge participants, surprised all of the teams with a special rate to stay at the Hotel for the night! Thanks to Craig and Hotel Monaco for their generous gifts this week!

Today we learned more about using pain, instead of pain using us! "Everything we do we do out of our need to seek pleasure or avoid pain." The Challenge for the week is a powerful one.
Write down all the ways that overeating has brought you pain. Link pain to your past behavior.
Write down all the ways that eating healthy brings you pleasure. Link pleasure to your new behavior.
Any area of your life can be drastically changed by using this tool.
We truly, on auto pilot, will avoid pain. If you link enough pain to overeating...you will avoid it!

Let me say again...you are an amazing group of talented, dedicated people. I'm thrilled to watch your progress!

Keep up the great work.

Together Everyone Achieves More

...We found that out this week as our teams continued with great weight loss! So far in our three week challenge our 38 teams have lost a total of 657 pounds! Some great thoughts were shared this week about the difference the Team Challenge is making in the lives and commitments of our clients at The Healthy Weigh.

The coveted 'Scissor Award' was presented at Noon to Team "Legal Losers" and at Six Team "Low Cal Gals" received the award as well as the prize for the greatest % of weight loss for the week. 1.6%. Congratulations Janet and Margie for an outstanding job this week!

Thank you to our sponsors of the week, Hand and Stone massage for gifting our teams with one hour massages for doing great work on their positive affirmation cards. Barry Brandenburg, Attorney at Law, showered our winning team for the week with Fit & Fresh plastic ware and green bags!

We challenged our teams to look at behavioral goals more seriously this week. Long term change takes accomplishing short term goals. The first step to choosing a behavioral goal for yourself is to ask the question, "What behavior is getting in the way of me accomplishing my goal?" Set a behavior goal each week and be specific. Finally, remember to reward yourself for new behavior! Little changes add up to the life you want to live!

Our Challenge for the week was directed to teams,if they choose to accept it! Next week at weigh-in, each team is to come with a obvious visual sign that they are a team! Face pain, striped hair, matching bike shorts? Who knows what we'll see! What we do know is that team work matters...team work will make the difference in you winning $1000!

You are an inspiring group of people! Stay committed to your team mate, the challenge and mostly to yourself!

Can't wait to see the Teams next week! Have a great 7 days!

Feliz Cinco De Mayo

We toasted with mockaritas as our 38 teams dropped a total of 174.9 pounds this week! The evening teams showed off as they lost 105.5 pounds while the noon group celebrated their 69.4 pounds! Week three of the Team Challenge proved to be another fun and motivating week!

Thanks to our sponsors we gave away Starbucks coffee and mugs to our challenge participants from last week. Making a list of the 7 ways their lives will improve...and making a team collage allowed 4 of our team mates to win this week! The collages look great up on the wall and it was wonderful to see life, dreams and clarity come out on the pages!

Our Scissor award for the week (the highest % of weight loss at noon and six) went to teams 'Dynamic Duo' and 'Git R Dun'! Congratulations to these two teams for their win this week. The BIG award of the week went to team 'Dynamic Duo' with a % of weight loss of 2.5 for the week! Congratulations Linda and Fred! Schlecht Construction awarded the winning team with a 3 in one exercise ball and DVD kit!

We focused on positive affirmations this week because at The Healthy Weigh we know that how you think about yourself makes the difference in you losing your weight and more importantly how you keep it off. Your challenge for the week is to fill out your Team Challenge positive affirmation cards and bring them back into the clinic next week.

As we start this next week of the challenge I reminded the teams that "the race is not won to the swift...but to those who keep on running." You are all in a race that will make the difference in how you live the rest of your lives. Keep running my friends. Make a decision each day to put your life, your health and your future ahead of food.

Until next Tuesday!

The Decisions Have Been Made...

...and oh how it showed today! I'm thrilled to announce that our Team Weight Loss Challenge "losers" lost a total of 384 pound this week! 132 of those pounds were dropped off by our noon group, and our evening teams lost another 251 pounds!

What fun we had today as each team eased their way on to the scale to show off their efforts for the week. The Results were awesome, just like their efforts!

This week was all about motivation. Spending our time and energy thinking about what we DO want instead of what we don't want."What we focus on, we will get more of." So what are you focusing on?

The challenge for the week focuses on motivation.
You have a choice. Make a a list of the 7 ways your life will improve when you reach your goal weight, bring the list in next Tuesday and put a ticket in the drawing. OR get together with your team mate and make a collage representing you individually and as a team. This collage should reveal your dreams and your hopes for your best lives. Bring that in the clinic next Tuesday and receive a ticket in the drawing.

For you over achievers...do both, and you'll have two chances to win!

We gave way some great Fit & Fresh plastic ware to our challenge winners for keeping their program journals all week. Congratulations to our winners!

Each week we will be presenting the winning team with the highest % of weight loss at NOON an 6 PM the coveted "scissor award!" These teams have "cut off any other possibility!"
Our "scissor award" winners at noon were Team 'Once & For All' and the evening "scissor award" went to Team 'Big Hinney' who also won the prize today for the greatest % of weight loss of all the 38 teams,$100.00. Congratulations Ron and Tammy.

We appreciate our Sponsor for the week, Glenda Bigalky, MA. Thank you for all your support.

Keep up the great work Teams, draw from the strength inside of you. You showed yourself this week that you've got it! I'm thrilled for you.

Let The Challenge Begin!

You could feel the excitement in the air today at The Healthy Weigh as 38 teams weighed in for the start of our Weight Loss Team Challenge. 16 teams showed at noon and the rest at 6 PM. With their matching shirts and their great team names, they posed for their before pictures and signed partnership agreements with their teams mates.

With 10 weeks to go, I challenged the participants to make a decision today! A decision to lose 20,30,40 pounds or more! Making a true decision means committing to achieving a result and cutting yourself off from any other possibility! "No food or drink will taste as good in the next 10 weeks as the feeling you will have standing on the scale on June 23rd having met your goal!"

Along with offering up a challenge to keep a food journal all week with the possibility of a prize next week, we handed out some prizes today!
Four teams won a one hour massage, courtesy of "Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa" www.handandstone.com , for being the first and last teams to sign up for the challenge! Congratulations to Teams; "Not Yet Ready for Prime Time" "TNT" "Thom Thins" and "Weight No More!"

We have 10 weeks ahead with the end of the challenge paying one team $1000.00. I can't wait to see who that is!

Teams...Have a GREAT week!
