No Quit in Us!

It was a banner day at The Healthy Weigh! We celebrated some great accomplishments at our Team Challenge today. Along with some of our clients reaching goal weight today, Alyssa from team 'Kickin' it with Kankles' hit her 100 lb mark! Gail, Alyssa's team partner, brought balloons and 'champagne' to toast Alyssa on this big day! Alyssa, you have been an inspiration to us all! Congratulations! The red and the green teams represented today! The race is close so we're saving the outcome for our finale next week! Someone on one of those teams is going to win a $100 visa gift card! We also concluded our NO CAVE NOVEMBER contest. We're going to celebrate that winner next week too! As we head in to our final week of this fall Team Challenge, I talked about the difference between quitting and winning! There's a fine line between quitters and winners!

Quitting happens when things get tough…when people get tired, when you lose hope. Quitting is related to wishing… "I wish I was thinner and healthier, I wish I would have done better. I wish I would have kept going, I wish I wouldn’t have stopped."

Winning happens when things get tough...when people get tired, when you hold on to hope.

Winning and hope are related. "I hoped that my life would change if I started taking better care of my self. I hoped and I believed, I decided what I wanted and put action to my decision!"

The stories I have read about the great ones… the great ones at everything…sports, math, inventions, music…they all had a decision to make. "Is there quit in me…or am I going to make the decision to keep at it?"

When the time came to make that decision, it wasn’t because the great ones were on top! They had fallen, they had made mistakes, they were feeling weak, they weren’t feeling like winners…that is when they had to pull from down deep and say “There’s no quit in me, I’ve got to keep going to live out my very best life. I will complete the race."

We've got 101 pounds to go to break the all time Team Challenge record...this is the week that all our our team mates need to pull from down deep, have their very best week and state, "There's no quit it me."

The top two teams of this Team Challenge join us at noon. This week 'Team One-Eighty' took the noon time win with a 2.15% weight loss for the week! Congratulations to Barry and Krystal! I LOVE your enthusiasm!

At five team 'Kickin' it with Kankles' thought since they were celebrating anyway, they might as well just win for the day! Gail and Alyssa took the win with a 2.09% for the week!

Our big winners of the day came at 6:30 with a 2.25% of weight loss this week. Team 'The Lovable Curmudgeon and His Redneck Betty" picked a great week to win! They walked away with 4 Blazer tickets and $50 in Burgerville bucks! Jeff and Jessie, I'm proud of you and you've got date-night paid for!

A special thank you to Tom and Kathy from team 'TomKat' for donating Burgerville bucks for all three teams this week...and to Scott from team ' Bad Genes ~Further Evidence,' for the 4 Blazer tickets! Your support makes all the difference!

Next week is going to be a celebration! We've had AMAZING weight loss at this Team Challenge and we will all be coming together at 6:30 for the Grand Finale! Teams can show up at noon, and 5, but we'll hope to see you all back at 6:30 for all the fun! After pictures will be taken and awards will be given out! You won't want to miss this powerful evening!

101 pounds to go this week...I can hear you right now..."THERE'S NO QUIT IN US!"

Make it a great week. Finish strong!
Always encouraging you,
Letha

I left this week's meeting feeling so sad and I only had myself to blame. The 5:00 group had so much to celebrate...a teenager lost 100 pounds. An adult lost 80 lbs and reached goal in 7 months (there goes the older metabolism and menopause excuse). And after a great start I stalled for 3 weeks in the No Cave challenge. I cried tears of regret and disappointment. What could have been, what should have been...

I had to make a decision. Is there quit in me? The answer was No. There is no quit in me because I have changed. I have lost 20 lbs since coming back to Healthy Weigh. I have been exercising with a trainer. I am making better food choices. I am changing my thinking and beliefs. Progress.

I reflected, evaluated, and regrouped. This time I will do what I fought doing last time - I will keep my food diary; I will plan my meals; I will prepare ahead of time. Not easy for a person who likes to "play it by ear".

I can do this and I plan to celebrate my hundred pound loss and goal weight in 2011.
