Class Is In Session!

Class is in session at Healthy Weigh University!  We've got a mascot, we've got a fight song, and we've got students!!  Between our Noon time and 6 PM classes, we weighed-in 114 teams Thursday! With "before" pictures taken, team names chosen and our first weigh-in behind us, we're ready to have the greatest spring semester EVER!

This week our students received their workbooks with some important information to get them started for the semester. Next week chapter one of the workbook will arrive and we'll start working through it as we move through the 10 week challenge.  Glenda will be facilitating a group discussion after the homework is done so that HWU students have an opportunity to ask questions and dig deeper.

The HWU Fighting Lion charged into the room today with the Alumni close behind. We were introduced to our Alumni and celebrated their success as they reported their weight loss! Impressive!! We're excited to have our Alumni as a part of our pride.

The Fighting Lion serves as our mascot for many reasons besides being so cute;
Lions are brave and courageous...you've got to be to change.
Lions are protective...you're the only one that can protect your health.
Lions are willing to fight...are you willing to fight and say yes to yourself and no to others?
Lions are hunters...will you hunt to discover why you do what you do?
Lions are a part of a pride...we need each other to be successful!

The Fighting Lion...perfect!

We'll be giving out assignments each week of this Team Challenge. Each time you complete them, you'll be entered into a drawing for some fun prizes.

This week, your assignment is to read through the information in your workbook and decorate the front of it. Be creative and inspirational!! Bring those books back in next week!

I couldn't be more excited as we begin our 20th season of the Team Challenge!  I anticipate great things ahead for the next 10 weeks! HWU is going to be an inspirational place to spend Thursdays this spring. Don't miss a one!

Always encouraging you,
Letha
