Friend or Foe?

You've got to ask that question when you come up on a berry bush while you're out camping. Friend or Foe? Can I eat this berry, will it make me sick, is it good for me? I taught the campers a little scout secret to help them remember what to do in the woods. "Sometimes Red, Never White, Always Blue." We've got to ask the question... friend or foe?

Berries aren't the only time we ask that question. I gave a little sneak peak into a maintenance lifestyle yesterday at the Team Challenge by sharing some important information about fats. Fats...Friend or Foe?

We talked about the different kinds of fats and the amount of fat that our clients consume now compared to the % of fat that they will consume when they reach their goal weight. Just like with berries, we have to ask ourselves the questions, can I eat this fat, is this fat good for me, will it make me sick? It was a great day of learning at The Healthy Weigh.

It was also another day of celebrating as we had two winners take the prize (tuition paid for the summer team challenge) for the greatest % of weight loss from our Noon campers and then again from our evening group.  Tobey G. captured the prize at Noon while Peggy S. ran away with the award at 6 PM. Congratulation to you both on a great weight loss for the week!

Our winning Teams for the day not only took home the wonderful walking sticks, but they won a $30 gift card each as well.  Congratulations to Bev and Barb from ' The Aunts go Marching Two by Two' with a 1.68% of weight loss and team 'Bubblicious', Ruth and Ami with a 2.96% of weight loss! Our Top 5 or 6 teams are running so close on this Team Challenge...Who knows who's going to take the win next week? It's going to be an exciting week for sure!

We passed out our 'CAMPOUT' information and are excited to spend some time around the campfire together next weekend at Camp Currie. We'll have some stories to tell around the fire for sure!

We've got 30 Teams or so already signed up for the Summer Team Challenge! I'm excited to have the OLYMPICS be our theme! You can't find more inspiration than those Olympians who have worked so hard and persevered to capture the gold! As we prepare for our Grand Finale next week, I look to the future with great hope that our clients will continue to change their thinking by committing and re-committing as many times as necessary to change permanently.

We have one more challenge for every camper...to lose 2 pounds this week! We've got some great prizes that have been donated by our clients that will be given to the winners of the drawing. Lose 2 pounds this week and your name might be picked!

I'm looking forward to awarding prizes next week for 20, 30, 40, 50 pounds of weight loss.
It's always a thrill to get all of you together at the finale and celebrate what you've done in the last 10 weeks.  Until next week campers...

Always encouraging you,
Letha
