Santa Loves You!

We had fun Thursday showing up in our "favorite" Christmas sweaters and taking some time with Santa! We served a little holiday punch, taught a few people how to make a fabulous Christmas bows and spent one more week together letting go of things that we don't need!  This week...poorly chosen words!

Poorly chosen words can kill enthusiasm, impact expectations and hold people back.

Well chosen words can motivate, offer hope, create vision, impact thinking, and alter results!  That's what we're after at The Healthy Weigh...altered results!

I shared my yearly tradition of choosing a word for the year to study, master and focus on.  It was a tradition that started out years ago somewhat casual, and turned into something life changing as the years went on.  I challenged all of my Healthy Weigh friends to choose a word for the year that will alter their 2014!

Good words last and carry enormous power to help, heal, encourage and move us to a greater level of living. I'm thrilled to think about the ripple effect of all our challengers choosing a word for the year of 2014!

Speaking of 2014...I made the big announcement about our Winter Team Challenge beginning in January!  "Northwest Adventure" will be our focus and motivation as we head into the new year.  Living in the northwest  during the winter months can affect our mood and our thinking...which of course then affects our actions!  This winter we are going to embrace the northwest winter and learn to change inspite of the weather.  Our slogan to inspire us this winter is this..."healthy summer bodies are earned in the winter." We are going to be doing some fun work to earn our health and fitness together this winter!  I can't wait!
Along with the fun and inspiration of Thursdays gatherings, we also celebrated with Denise Currie, founder of The Giving Closet as she came to thank us for our participation and donations to her organization. The Giving Closet, together with the WHO (Winter Hospitality Overflow)  joined together to make a difference in the lives of the homeless families of Clark County this year.  The Healthy Weigh joined that cause.  We donated close to $1000 to help with the Christmas parties and gifts for the families and children.  Thank you to all who donated. It's a great time of year to give!

Our winning teams for the week took home gift cards to Fred Meyers...kind of handy this time of year!

Noon: Team "Tiny Hiny's" Marci and Janie took the win with a 2.10% of weight loss for the week!  Great job girls!!
6PM: Team "Shrinky Dinks" won AGAIN with a 2.71% for the week!  Spencer and Jamie, we are so proud of you!!! You've lead the way and stayed strong...you inspire us!

We had a $100 anonomous donation to be used to "inspire."  So, I decided to use it this way. Every client who loses 2.0 pounds for the week will be entered into a drawing for the $100.  We will present the prize at the finale next week!

Your Challenge for the week:

  • Choose a word for the year
  • Lose 2.0 pounds to be entered into the drawing for $100
  • Sign up for the Winter Team Challenge
We've got one week to go.  We are pretty sure we know who's going to take the first place prize...but second and third are up for grabs!  Who will do it? Give it your all this week!!

Until then...
Always encouraging you,
Letha
