Willpower...what it is and what it isn't!

WIllPOWER...in the last 9 weeks, we've learned what willpower is and we've learned what willpower isn't!
It ISN'T white knuckling your way through life and settling for the level of willpower you have.
It IS developing a set of skills and being confident that you have the ability to grow your willpower.
Here's our  list of willpower skills/boosters:
Meditation
Rewards
Exercise
Internal Processing
Re visit want power
Keep blood sugar level
Avoid triggers
Complete tasks you've been avoiding
Meet your future self

We are born to be tempted, and born to resist. Our human nature includes both the self that wants immediate gratification and the self with a higher purpose.
It's just as human to feel stressed, scared, and out of control as it is to find the strength to be calm and in charge of our choices.

Self control and willpower, as we have learned in these last week, is a matter of understand these different parts of ourselves, not fundamentally changing who we are. It's changing how we respond and how we think about ourselves and the world around us.  I think we've learned the the biggest secret to having more willpower is paying attention! It's training the mind to recognize when you're making a choice rather than running on auto pilot!
Willpower...I will, I Won't and I Want power...I'll never think about it the same!

We had a good time of reviewing all the willpower boosters!  It's exciting to look at the list and see just how much control we have over being people of great willpower! It's all about the choice now!

We celebrated our winning teams one more time before the big finale next week!

Noon:  Team "We've Got The Power" Denise and Erin, won with a 1.52% of weight loss!
6 PM:  Team "Little Sisters"  Megan and Ashley won with a 3.79% of weight loss!
Our super heroes of the week were pretty excited too. Bev H. and Megan B. you did a great job this week!

Congratulations to all you girls!   I guess it was Girl Power for week number nine!

We've got a great last week ahead of us with a couple of inspiring challenges.

  • Lose 2.5 pounds for the week to be entered into our last drawing for $50. 
  • AND the top two Super heroes with the greatest % of weight loss will receive the Summer Team Challenge for FREE!!!


We've got people shooting for the 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, and 70.6 pound club this week!  My printer is going to be on fire this week printing up the prize money and the certificates for the celebration at the grand finale!  I can't want!  Who will be the winners of the Spring Team Challenge???
