Mardi Gras!

We celebrated Mardi Gras a little different than the rest of the world today...instead of high fat foods, pancakes, and gluttoney, we lost 79.2 pounds!

The noon time group had some star performers, but in general had a tough week. They managed to lose 13.0 pounds for the week! The evening group showed their stuff by losing 66.2 pounds and hosting the top team of the week!

Team 'Power over Pounds' sported matching shirts with their logo as they received the grand prize for the week by losing 1.97%. "Healthy Weigh for life" was presented to Becky and Jerry. Congratulations you two... you picked a good week to stay focused and lose the most weight!

Team 'Boys to Thin' took the noon time jackets home again with a weight loss % of 1.16! With 28 days to go, they aren't planning to slow down!

I was excited and impressed to hear about the support and encouaragement that partners gave to each other this week. The team costumes were pretty amazing too. They say laughter is good for the soul...my soul was full last night!

As we look at the last 28 days of the Team Challenge, I challenged our teams to considering a sacrifice of sorts for the next 28 days. Letting go of negative
thinking! Since our thought life has EVERYTHING to do with our actions, it is crucial that we learn how to control our thoughts.

How do you become a good thinker?
1. Expose yourself to good input
2. Expose yourself to good thinkers
3. Choose to think good thoughts
4. Act on your good thoughts
5. Allow your emotions to create another good thought

YOUR CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK:
Give up negative thinking...refrain from thinking that is not getting you what you want!

Sow a thought, and you reap an action;
Sow an Action, and you reap a habit;
Sow a habit, and you reap a character;
Sow a character, and you reap a destiny.

Nancy from team 'Skinnie Minnies' gifted us with 4 $25.00 gift certificates from Party City this week! Thank you to Nancy and Party City for helping us celebrate this week!

So many of our Team Challenge particiapnts are over the 20 pound mark already...we celebrate you and look forward to the next 28 days!

We've got 344 pounds to go to beat the world record...let's do this thing!

The Heart of a Champion!

What a time we had at The Team Challenge on Tuesday! Who Dat Nation not only came through on Sunday in Florida...but they came through Tuesday at The Team Challenge! Glenda was gloating a bit as she announced the winners at 6 PM. The Colts lost 53.8 pounds for the week and the Saints scored that extra field goal with 56.4 pounds! It was a close one, but the Saints took it! Joe, of team 'Boys to Thin' won the drawing for the gift certificate at Bonneville Hot Springs! Congratulations Joe!

Our noon time bunch was spirited Tuesday. Team 'Finish Line' took the win at noon and the day with 2.18% weight loss for the week! Congratulations Mark and Casey! Hope you're enjoying your pumpkin custard this morning!

At Six, team 'Women in Transition' beat out the rest of the teams with a weight loss % of 1.73 for the week. Darcy and Gail will be sporting their jackets all week! I'd love to see them at work wearing that beautiful white outer wear!

A side bet went on with the six PM group this week! Our Toxic Waist Dump group from Pleasant Valley Middle School had a pool to see what individual would win out of the six of them. Lea of 3 mile wide Island took it all with a 2.38 % weight loss this week! She's $60 richer! 'Weigh' to go Lea!

Debbie from team 'Raising The Bar II' donated hand made bracelets this week! Eight of our clients went home with beautiful Valentine bracelets thanks to Debbie.

John Jackson from Sate Farm Insurance also gave a little Valentine gift to EVERY participant of the Team challenge! A pedometer...thanks John! It means a lot to have support from businesses and people in our community!

I couldn't think of a better subject on Valentine's week, than The Heart of a Champion! We are 1/2 way through The Team Challenge and have every opportunity to be Champions in the next 5 weeks! Champions aren't born, their made! Who will step up and have the personal satisfaction of knowing that you did everything it took in the last five weeks to have your greatest weight loss?

As we looked at the heart of a champion, I also reminded you that you have something that makes it easier to be champion...a partner!

YOUR CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK:
1.Do something special, motivational, encouraging or supportive for your partner this week. Have the heart of a champion and give it away to your partner.
2.Come next week looking like partners...let it be visible that you and your partner are a team!

What a time we're having at the Team Challenge, what a time I'm having celebrating you and your accomplishments. Keep up the great work. Have the heart of a champion this week and we'll see you next week at the Party!

Own The Moment!

We're Ready for the Superbowl!!! We've divided ourselves up into two teams, the Colts(go BLUE!) and the Saints(who dat NATION!)and we're ready to have our own Superbowl! What team will lose the greatest % of weight this week? Who will win the gift certificate at Bonneville Hot Springs? Who will 'own the moments' this week?

Tuesday was another great day of weight loss at The Healthy Weigh. 173.4 pounds were lost between the noon and 6PM groups! We're chipping away at that Olympic record!

'Black2B' won our weekly challenge for the second week in a row with a weight loss % of 2.72...Rick and Colby are sporting 4 Movie tickets in celebration of their win!

'Boys to Thin' won the 6 PM weigh in with a weight loss % of 2.50. That puts Bill and Joe in first place with a weight loss % of 8.8!

As our teams weigh in each week, I'm equally excited for the 1.5 pound losses as I am the 10 pound losses! Great things are happening to all the participants of the Team Challenge!

As we were challenged to 'Own The Moments' this week I encouraged our clients to look at what it means to own the moments of their lives, instead of letting their moments own them!
"'Owning the moments' is not to do what ever comes naturally~that in fact is bondage to the flesh. It is not to pursue our appetites without restraint. To 'own the moments' is to possess the desire and the ability to do what is good, to become the person you were created to be...to reach your full potential!"

The Team Challenge has an abundance of outstanding people who have AMAZING potential! I believe that learning to 'own the moments' will be the key to them reaching that potential!

Movies were exchanged...massages were gifted (thanks to team $ for Chunkers)and cheers were cheered...it was another great Team Challenge!

I'm excited to see what you'll do this week while you 'own the moments' of your life...I'm exited to see who will 'own the podium' next week!

Have a great week...inspire your partner...own the moment!

It's All About The Motivation...

and we've got some motivated people! We are well on our way to breaking the Olympic record! With 212 pounds lost yesterday, we're close to half way...with only two weigh-in's behind us! That's exciting!

Two new teams took home the white jackets on Tuesday. At noon, team 'Blacks 2B' won the prize for the week with a 2.82% of weight loss. Congratulations to Rick and Colby! Six PM named a familiar team the winners. Team 'P2:The Sequal' took home the jackets with a weekly weight loss % of 2.44. The white jacket slipped right over Bruce's shoulders with his 78 pound loss! Congrats to our Potluck Pastors...Bruce and Barry!

You were challenged last week to take a look at your motivation! Two winners walked away with a fun prize...a GIANT word "COURAGE" to adhere to a wall space! I hope Casey and Shawn will place that somewhere that continues to inspire them and give them the courage to change!

As we looked further into motivation this week we learned more about using pain and pleasure to motivate us. Everything we do, we do out of our need to seek pleasure and avoid pain. The key to using pain and pleasure for your weight loss program is to link as much pain as possible to being over weight and eating unhealthy and rewarding yourself for the opposite! Changing your thinking about food will ultimately be what keeps your weight off for life!

YOUR CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK:
Link pain to over eating...link pleasure and rewards to your new healthy eating.

We've got great things in store for you in the next weeks to come. Keep focused, dig in to all the challenges and support your team mate too.

A big tthanks to our Sponsor for the week:
Barry Brandenburg, Attorney at Law

Have a great week...email me if you need to.

The Vancouver Winter Games are in Full Swing!

Week number two didn't disappoint, with a total weight loss of 432.6 pounds! Our noon group lost 161 and the evening group shed 271 pounds this week! Congratulations to all the teams for a great week of weight loss!

At Noon team "Downsizing Divas" took the win with a weight loss % of 4.89 for the week. Trish and Emm not only won the winter jackets but the cash prize of $100 as well! Congratulations you Divas!

Our evening group congratulated team "Boys To Thin" with a weight loss of 4.28 for the week! Joe and Bill looked great as they left the building in their winter Team Challenge jackets!

The race is on...and teams are excited!

As we enter week two of the Team Challenge I inspired our teams to look a little deeper this week! The first step to change is knowing what you want!
Motivation is the key to change and continued success! Motivation from "Without"...and motivation from "Within."

YOUR CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK:
Fill out and bring back your motivation hand out...motivation from "Without" and motivation from "Within."

Our challenge winners from last week kept their program journals and took their measurements...that won them a fantastic motivational movie that will inspire them and more teams to come!

We started out the Team Challenge with some great weight loss numbers...our "Olympic Record" will be beat when this group loses more than 1349 pounds during this Team Challenge! These numbers will beat the Spring Team Challenge of '09! I think you're going to do it!

With all the success that you are seeing on Tuesday, I'm blessed to hear even more stories of personal success during the week. I'm thrilled for you, your team mates and the goodness that this Team challenge brings.

SPECIAL THANK YOU TO OUR SPONSOR FOR THE WEEK: GLENDA BIGALKY,MA

Have an awesome week and I'll see you Tuesday.

Always encouraging you.

Let the Winter Games Begin!

As the Team Challenge torch was lite yesterday, the official start of the Winter Team Challenge began! Scott from team "Cut The Check"(Fall Team Challenge winners) did the honors of carrying the torch at noon, and Gary and Leigh from team "Losin' with the Cuppys" ran the final leg of the torch at six PM. With 40 teams participating, the energy at Noon and at Six PM heated up the place equal to the torch flame.

Teams were introduced, before pictures were taken and inspiration was given. It was a fun day at The Healthy Weigh! Teams were sizing up the competition and planning their strategies!

We talked about DECISION... committing to achieving a result and then cutting off any other possibility! Every one in the room had the opportunity to make the very same decision...that they would fully engage in the Team Challenge in the next 10 weeks!

I had the Team challenge returnees stand and commit to a new day, a new Team Challenge. We also announced that from that group, one participant will be awarded a prize of $250 for having the greatest % of weight loss for this 10 weeks.

We met Shauna at 6 PM...she will be giving a "BOOT CAMP" at the clinic this Saturday at 10AM. The cost is $3. I hope you'll come! It will be a blast!

With guidelines, schedules and partnership agreements in hand, our teams left with a challenge for the week.

YOUR CHALLENGE FOR THE WEEK:

1.Keep track of all your foods this week on your program journal...bring your journal back into the clinic Tuesday and recieve a ticket in the drawing.
2. Take your measurements this week! (you'll be glad you did!) this will get you a second ticket in the drawing!

I LOVE the Team Challenge...I LOVE what the Team Challenge does for you! I look forward to seeing you all Tuesday for an outstanding weigh in!

Always encouraging you,
Letha

We had a close second with team Potluck Pastors coming in with a 17.93%! Congratulations to Bruce of Potluck Pastors having the most weight loss for the 10 week challenge... 57 pounds! His Team mate Barry won the greatest % of weight loss. It was a close race and a fun one at that. Team CTC didn't know they had won until the names were announced!
